Pageflex Customers Honored by PODi

Pageflex is proud to report that two of our customers have been honored by PODi with their annual Best Practices Awards!  The awards will be presented tomorrow morning at the PODi AppForum.  

MSP Digital and eIntegrity were honored with a Best Practices Award in the category of "Marketing Resource Center."  These customers were recognized for a project they created for the DoubleTree by Hilton^TM hotel chain. DoubleTree wanted to improve the process by which 250 properties around the world procure marketing materials. MSP Digital built a comprehensive, single-source, web-to-print toolkit for DoubleTree's international brand. With programming assistance from eIntegrity, the robust solution was completed in less than four months. Portal users can order over 250 items including door hangers, menus, key cards, conservation cards, stationery, and vehicle signage. By implementing this one-stop shop for the properties, DoubleTree was able to successfully manage their brand while leveraging the capabilities of Pageflex customization.

Honorable Mention in this category went to Pageflex customer The Standard Group. They were recognized for a project they developed for the retail chain Ten Thousand Villages. This project empowered 80 individual stores to be able to create and personalize their own materials via a centralized web portal. Each store also has the ability to personalize and order their own letterhead, postcards, business cards, and marketing materials while Ten Thousand Villages still retains control over the design and integrity of the brand.

Pageflex at the PODi AppForum

Leslie Wengenroth, Director of Marketing for Pageflex, will participate in a Pre-Conference Intensive panel discussion titled Best Practices for Web to Print.  In addition, Pageflex will be featured at scheduled vendor demonstrations on Tuesday, January 24 at 2:40 p.m. and Wednesday, January 25 at 11:00 a.m.

The 2011 Pageflex User Conference

Last week marked the return of the Pageflex User Conference!

It was so great to see so many members of the Pageflex community come out for this event.  By all accounts, users were pleased that user conference was back, and especially happy with the location and content of this year's event.

Pinhas Romik, Pagflex General Manager is joined by Deb Cantabene of Xerox, Simon Lewis of HP, and Ray Cassino of Heidelberg.

This year, we held the meeting at the Seaport Conference Center in Boston, Massachusetts. In all, over 170 attendees from around the world took part in the three-day event.

The conference gave users the chance to dig deeper into Pageflex technology and to better understand the market as a whole. There were presentations by industry leaders like Jennifer Matt that provided a high level view of opportunities and innovation, and smaller group sessions that focused on technical and business development topics.

We also announced the winners of the 2011 Pageflex Innovation Awards. Details on the award winning projects will be posted here next week.

Most importantly, there was also plenty of time for networking and social events so that users could learn from each other - a critical part of the success of the event.

Jennifer Matt to Speak at the Pageflex User Conference

As a keynote speaker, Ms. Matt will speak about building a successful online business from the print customers’ perspective.

Ms. Matt brings a wealth of knowledge to the subject on which she speaks.  After holding leadership positions at several major web to print technology companies, and being directly involved in large web to print projects in the US and Europe, Ms. Matt founded Web2Print Experts, Inc. In this role, Ms. Matt partners with printers and technology providers to create new revenue streams using innovation and technological expertise. In addition, she is the author of WhatTheyThink.com’s blog The Web and Print, a valuable resource for any printer who is looking to expand their business online.

User Conference Training Sessions Announced

Pageflex is pleased to announce that we've added three training sessions to the Pageflex User Conference agenda. These sessions are your chance to gain an in-depth understanding of Pageflex Studio, Pageflex Document Actions or Pageflex iWay. 

Because we are a bit delayed in announcing these sessions, we're extending the special discount for early registration to the User Conference. Register before October 10, 2011, and you can still receive a $50 discount off the regular registration fee of $350.

Here are the training sessions we'll be offering. (Note that the training sessions are open only to customers who are currently on Support.) The training sessions will be held on October 31st and lunch will be provided.

Studio Workshop 

Bring your laptop with Studio 7.7 pre-installed and we’ll spend six hours in a compositionally variable paradise!  This one-day workshop will be divided into two three-hour sessions:

Morning Session –  Beginning Studio Usage 

This section will be a good review for everyone who uses Studio. We’ll pass out base projects for everyone to use. This will be an ideal way for newer Studio users to become more familiar with Studio, and will offer a great opportunity for advanced users to enhance their knowledge and share what they know. Be prepared to help the newer user sitting next to you!

Afternoon Session – Intermediate to Advanced

This section will review more advanced Studio topics and their implementation. In the last hour, we’ll entertain questions from the "Studio Audience."

Document Actions Class

Learn how to unleash the power of Document Actions in your Pageflex workflow at this one-day session. Bring your laptop with Studio 7.7 and Visual Studio pre-installed and we’ll work through the wonders of Document Actions in Pageflex.

The day will be divided into two three-hour sessions. For these sessions, you'll need to be comfortable in Visual Studio and have some familiarity with Pageflex composition.

Morning Session  – Beginning Document Actions

Write your first document action and learn about manipulating styles and colors in code. 

Afternoon Session  –  Advanced Document Actions 

We'll move on to more complex topics such as image replacement and manipulation, data access, and conditional logic that might accompany resizable documents. We’ll also entertain questions submitted in advance by registrants.

Pageflex iWay Training

 This session is designed to help you get even more out of the iWay product. We'll provide an in-depth look at specific iWay functionality, including:

• SET -  Learn more about the capabilities of this add-on module that allows you to define job types and static templates for print jobs that require binding. We'll cover the collection of possible components, such as cover, color pages, B&W pages, and tabs. We'll also discuss cover creation of the new binding types.
• Setting Up Your Catalog – We'll teach you how to create highly customized, attractive and differentiated product catalogs with the new Superstore feature. This feature lets you customize the experience for each print buyer. We'll discuss how to set up your catalog with targeted solutions that require less ordering steps.  We will also cover how to create dynamically updated catalogs and increase sales volume and profitability.
• Pricing Models Within iWay  - Learn about how to modify the application to best fit your pricing  needs.

Pageflex at Graph Expo 2011

The last year was a time of hard work and growth for Pageflex. The results of our efforts could be seen at the 2011 Graph Expo conference, where we demonstrated our leadership role as the organization with the broadest range of technologies for companies requiring printing and marketing automation.

Over the course of the four-day show, we had steady traffic at our booth. People had heard about the changes at Pageflex and wanted to see what is new - and there is a lot that is new!

First, we're proud to announce that we won a Must See 'Em award for in the Software Product Integration category. Pageflex 7.7 was selected for a Must See 'Em for the way it enables customers to offer Pageflex cross media campaigns directly from Pageflex Storefront.     

At Graph Expo, we  announced  other developments that further demonstrate our commitment to meeting the needs of customers in this market.  First, we announced Pageflex Sales Manger.  This new module for Pageflex iWay adds features that give printers the ability  to streamline automation, drive large volumes of jobs, and support complete billing processes.

We were also pleased to announced our partnership with Heidelberg. Under this agreement, Heidelberg will license the Pageflex Storefront web-to-print product, associated technologies from Bitstream, and custom development.

Graph Expo also marked the debut of our first Mobile to Print solution, PagePop.  PagePop is an app that lets users send PDF documents directly to the print production process. It's our first step in advancing the role that mobile devices will play in the printing production process, one that we'll be building on in the near future.

All of us at Pageflex left Graph Expo feeling optimistic about the industry and our place in it. We're looking forward to working with the people we met to solve their business needs, and to hearing more from our customers at the Pageflex User Conference being held next month.

Check Out Pageflex at Cross Media West

On Monday (February 22) Pageflex will be exhibiting at the Cross Media West Conference in Anaheim, CA. We'll be showing attendees how Pageflex Campaign Manager can be used to produce targeted multi-channel marketing campaigns with print, email, and pURL microsite components that dramatically increase response rates over traditional direct marketing campaigns. We can show you how easy it is to setup, manage the campaign, and track results. And we'll be handing out several case studies about past successful campaigns.

The Cross Media West Conference is a new one-day event developed for print service providers, marketers, and creative designers. The educational sessions appear to be jam packed with educational information and tips for each of these groups.
